This guitar belonged to the owners grandfather and was of great sentimental value.
This guitar was brought to my shop with major damage. As you can see there were very large cracks and missing wood. Duck tape was used to cover it all up and it was left this way for years.
A new mahogony side is heat bent.
After delicate removal of the old side and painstaking fitting of the new side, the guitar is glued up.
Lacquer was then precisely mixed so the repair would match the original finish. After a neck reset and a new set of frets this guitar sounded fantastic and played great!
